For this project we needed to showcase a beautiful luxury rental villa near Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca, Spain. We aimed to make the film feel warm, inviting and relaxed to spark interest and entice bookings.
We began by using an establishing shot from our DJI Phantom 4 drone to show the house within its environment of pine-wooded hills and how close it is to the coastline. We also did an alternate drone shot heading up the driveway and through the gates, to emulate what you would see from a car when driving in. This private driveway winds between fields and leads to the first view of the house. A closer drone shot reveals the house in more detail and the swimming pool just in front.
We now switch to a gimbal-mounted camera to explore the warm stone terrace in front of the house, and a spacious outdoor dining area looking onto the pool and the hills beyond. Large, covered terraces with spectacular panoramic views surround the property, offering a comfortable open-air stay at any time of the year. We used a tabletop-mounted dolly to create some nice tracking movements along the terrace.
Moving into the living room, we explored the beautifully tiled ground floor complete with log stove and the inviting kitchen. Moving upstairs we cover the main bathroom decked out in Greek colours, and several of the bedrooms including a stunning balcony view of the pool below. The balcony gave us a nice excuse to transition back to the drone to produce one of our favourite shots in the film, a sweeping parallax move to show the balcony in situ and the view beyond.
We stick with the drone for late afternoon shots of golden hour sun from the front of the property, where there is a stunning sun terrace with wicker furniture for afternoon relaxing. This led to another killer gimbal shot looking at the view and setting sun in the dappled leaves filmed from the terrace, and a raise-up with the drone from behind the roof over the beautiful terracotta tiles. We move to the pool to show lights coming on as the sun sets, and showcase the barbeque to bring a cosy sense for chillier nights.
